While this version reflects our standard practices and obligations, the contractual version you receive with your quotation may differ slightly to meet RECC and MCS compliance requirements.
Solar & Battery Company.com is a trading name of The Solar Battery Company Ltd, registered in England and Wales.
We are members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) (No. 00076764) and certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) (No. NAP/73919/24/1).
We design, supply, and install solar PV systems, battery storage, and related energy solutions as described in your individual quotation.
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated and are based on site conditions known at the time of survey.
Only MCS-certified installers carry out installation and commissioning.
Initial Deposit (25%) – Payable upon acceptance of the quotation.
Fully refundable if you cancel within the statutory cancellation period or if a site survey later shows the installation cannot proceed.
Materials Deposit (35%) – Payable once your installation materials are ordered.
Used solely for purchasing goods for your project.
Together with the initial deposit, these advance payments will never exceed 60% of the total contract price.
Both payments are protected by an insurance-backed guarantee in accordance with RECC requirements.
Final Balance (40%) – Payable upon completion of installation, prior to system handover and certification.
Ownership of all goods transfers once full payment has been received.
Late payments may incur interest at 2.5% above the Bank of England base rate.
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of the date you sign it or pay your initial deposit, whichever occurs first.
This is known as your “cooling-off period” under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

If you wish us to begin work or order materials before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, you must confirm this in writing.
By doing so, you acknowledge that if you later cancel within this period, you may be charged for:
Any goods or materials already ordered or delivered, and
Any work or services already carried out.
We make every effort to meet agreed installation dates.
Delays can sometimes occur due to weather, supply issues, or other factors beyond our control.
If an unreasonable delay occurs within our control, you may be entitled to compensation or the option to cancel the contract and receive a refund.
Any changes to the agreed work will be discussed and confirmed in writing before proceeding.
If unexpected conditions arise (for example, hidden roof or electrical issues), we will advise you and agree on any cost adjustments before continuing.
Workmanship Warranty: 5 years roof warranty and 2 years workmanship for battery, backed by an insurance-backed guarantee.
Performance Warranties: Manufacturer performance warranties for panels, (typically 10 years at 90% and 25 years at 80%).
Documentation: All certificates and guarantees provided within 7–10 days of commissioning.
Regular inspection and cleaning are recommended to maintain system performance.
Optional maintenance plans are available separately.
We maintain appropriate public and product liability insurance.
We are not liable for:
Pre-existing property or electrical defects,
Damage by third parties or extreme weather, or
Indirect losses such as reduced energy savings or export income.
Our total liability will not exceed the total contract value, except for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
If a dispute arises that cannot be resolved directly, customers may refer the matter to the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) Dispute Resolution Service

or to MCS for technical matters
(www.mcscertified.com/complaints-compliance).
We handle all personal information in line with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
